Brian Freisinger

“The brave new world of the Visual Effects Industry”

Belfast City Council in association with Queen’s University are hosting the visit of visual effects expert, Brian Freisinger, to Belfast as part of a partnership initiative to support the development of the Creative Industries in Belfast. Brian is based in California, and is recognised as a leading light in the film and digital media industry.

For the last ten years, Brian Freisinger has been involved with the visual effects industry in a variety of positions, most recently as a supervisor at Disney's ‘ImageMovers Digital’, which just released its first film A CHRISTMAS CAROL, (written and directed by Robert Zemeckis) a fully animated version of the classic film in stereoscopic 3D.

Prior to working at ImageMovers Digital, Brian worked at a variety of companies such as Weta FX in New Zealand, Digital Domain, ESC FX, Zoic, and Manex VFX.

He has worked as a lead and supervisor on films such as MATRIX:RELOADED, MATRIX:REVOLUTIONS, CONSTANTINE, SERENITY, LADYKILLERS, ERAGON, BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA and AVATAR.

His television work includes BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, CSI, and a variety of pilots, as well as national broadcast commercial spots for clients such as Lexus and BMW.
In addition to his work in traditional film and television, Brian has spent the last year and a half working as a consultant, as well as a developer for a variety of "new media" applications, such as iPhone applications, real-time 3D solutions, and a variety of other techniques to deliver high quality visual experiences with non-traditional approaches.
