Continental market Belfast and lights switch on.

Celebrate the countdown to Christmas with our annual Christmas lights switch-on at Belfast City Hall on Tuesday 24 November.

Join Lord Mayor Naomi Long and guests including pantomime characters, a performance by Belfast Community Gospel Choir and children's TV favourites to light up the city.

Entertainment starts on stage at 7pm with special guest compere, former CBBC presenter Kirsten O’Brien. Bob the Builder and his team will be performing hits from his 'Never Mind the Breeze Blocks' album and fellow TV favourites
Fifi Forget-Me-Not and Bumble will 'Rock with the Tots'.

Christmas Continental Market
The Christmas Continental Market will return to City Hall from Tuesday 17 November to Saturday 19 December.

And there will be the usual selection of delightful aromas and tastes to tempt you from the wide variety of German, Irish, Russian and European market traders.

St George's Christmas Fair and Market also takes place on 6 and 7 December, offering a wide range of gourmet foods and festive crafts.

Santa's Postbox
Santa's Postbox is open in the grounds of City Hall from Tuesday 17 November to Friday 18 December 2009. So local children can make sure they get their lists to Father Christmas in plenty of time for the big day.

Every child who sends a letter will receive a personal response from the big man himself.
