On the edge exhibition

On The Edge Selected exhibition, curated by Bronagh Lawson, including painting, print, installation, drawing, video and photography, showing an eclectic snap shot of Belfast contemporary art practice. Bronagh Lawson is currently Artist in residence at City East* where she is working on a new body of work, some selected pieces will start the City East Art collection. Bronagh keeps a blog commenting on the changing Belfast art scene. http://belfastmutterings.blogspot.com/ During her residency she will work on a number of projects the first of which is “On the edge” a selected show of artists who are currently working in the Belfast area. Bronagh was attracted to the residency opportunity as it links together her artist practice and 13 years consultancy experience working on development projects mainly in interface areas. Bronagh has selected the artists showing in the “on the edge” exhibition as she has admired their creative spirit and artistic output often in the face of adversity in a difficult economic and artistic environment. Between them they have an impressive list of experience from exhibitions, commissions, community festivals, public sculpture, photography assignments, artist’s talks, workshops and interventions.
