Belfast Lighting Seminar this Thursday night

The Professional Lighting Designer's Association (PLDA), Light Bureau and ERCO Lighting present a lighting seminar tomorrow night at PLACE.

Venue: PLACE
Date: Thursday 24th September 2009
Time: 6 - 8pm, refreshments and snacks served

Talk 1: City lighting with emphasis on 2 case studies, Belfast & Geneva; this seminar is a contextual city presentation in order to give architects an idea of how a lighting designer thinks about the urban environment and thus design approach. Many recognisable civic and landmark buildings are used as case studies with analyses, with illustration and artwork showing what components a lighting designer considers important.

Talk 2: Lighting for the community focuses on the impact of lighting design with regards to people’s perception of an area and safety. The presentation focuses on three main case studies, including the Liverpool One development and the Castleford regeneration scheme. The case studies are linked to the communities’ opinion through interviews and on site analysis.
