European Pipe Band Championships 2010 and PipeUp! Festival

The European Pipe Band Championships 2010 will take place from 10.30am - 6.30pm on Saturday 31 July at the Stormont Estate in Belfast.

Over 100 of Europe's finest pipe bands will compete to be crowned European Champions.

This great day out for families will also include children's activities and highland dancing, as well as a tented village area selling tartan goods, food and drink.

The competition runs from 10.30am - 5.30pm. The march past will take place 5.30pm - 6.30pm.

Families - £14 on the day or £10 if booked in advance
Adult - £5 on the day or £4 if booked in advance
Concession - £3 on the day or £2.50 if booked in advance

PipeUp! Festival

Belfast's first PipeUp! Festival will take place from Saturday 31 July - Friday 6 August 2010, with piping, drumming and Ulster Scots folk music events.

Events include the PipeUp! Gala Concert on 6 August at Belfast Waterfront. It will feature the Simon Fraser University and Field Marshal Montgomery pipe bands for the most exciting contest in pipe band history. Tickets cost £20 and are available from the Belfast Waterfront website or by phoning 028 9033 4455.
