Iris Robinson on the stage at the grand opera house?

last night I saw a stunning performance from DV8 live on the stage at the grand opera house. The dance was about homophobia developed from interviews taken around the uk. It mixed religion, gender politics beautiful dance and quite simply I came away entralled. Why did I mention Iris Robinson? well in the theatre production part of the voice over was the radio interview from iris Robinson talking about how she thought being gay was an abomination. I actually remeber lying in bed listening to the morning show getting really annoyed with her. When it came on in the opera house the audiance gasped. You could feel people literally taking a sharp intake of breath. After the audio snippet of the radio it finished with a"and now the weather" and everyone laughed. I wonder if they did that in other places? is it just that we are so used to that kind of rant on the radio and then we all talk about the weather because we cant belive our ears??

After the production there was a question and answer session with the audiance over all what struck me was Peter Machett in the panel who said "the pope is gay" "there are very senior Ulster Unionist politicians that are gay and yet they were the ones that wanted to keep in the anti sodomy legislation. The audiance asked for names but he was'nt giving any way. All in all it was a fantastic night out. Its on tonight go and see it if you can. Theatre really is a fantastic way of quickly getting over issues that effect different sections of society and this was a brilliant way to do it..............well done Opera house for getting something actually worth while looking at for a change.
